Rivington Proms in the Park- 27.5.22

When scrolling through Facebook I saw an advertisement from Rivington Heritage Trust promoting ’Proms in the Park’. I was instantly drawn to it and thought my Gingham Picnics would work perfectly for this event. I emailed the organisers who agreed that this would work. It was official, I had my first big event booked.

I arranged to visit the site to try and get my head around the set up. The venue was really impressive and it was exciting to see how it would take shape. Three weeks and counting to decide what we would offer, how we would upscale our operation to meet the needs of hundreds of people, and how we would transport it up there, whilst working too.

I used Taylor’s farm shop, Fiddler’s crisps and Cheshire Cheese Company who were so helpful and I will definitely use them again. Our house turned into a warehouse for a time, but my family were very understanding! Then it was the week of the event and it was all hands on deck. Collecting stock, taking pre- orders, baking 300 scones, preparing each element of the box and then transporting it all up to the field. My parents, my sister and my husband all helped, in what really was a family affair.

The day itself was a huge success! The music was amazing and the atmosphere was really friendly. Our customers were so kind and gave us some amazing feedback. A great day had by all. We can’t wait to do it all again.
